I’m just putting up this video that we’ve done of some recent work for a client. The reason for the tree removal is because it was causing problems for the car park and birds mess. Also for the neighbours beyond those conifers. They’ve been pretty much in darkness during the course of the day for the last 15 to 20 years.
So, it was two reasons why they would come down. Mainly light and also just to clear the car park and increase space. So this is just going to be a little clip to show you the amount of trees that were there. There’s probably about 20 to 25 trees in total.
This was done over a period of two to three days from all the trees being cut and removed. And what we have here is Craig on the loader, we use the loader on this particular job to move the wood around, also to aid with felling as well.
It enables us to safely remove it. You can see Craig is now, pulling some tension on that line. The line’s gone up into the tree, and pulls underneath. He’s now about to move out of the way into the safe zone. And down here comes the tree. So again, a controlled fell.
This is Craig. I’m obviously taking the photographs on this, but Craig, he’s sledding up the tree. There are the houses behind, which like I explained, were in darkness for a long period of time.
We remove the side branches and cut up the log, and that’s just the processing of the chipper. And this will run. And I’ll just give you an indication again of how many trees we actually got cleared. Then we stack it with the loader. And this is the loader itself.
And then you’ll see the actual stack over the period of the two to three days that we created. It was a really wet, miserable couple of days. So, again, the advantage of the loader just speeds up the process and enables us to get the job done safely.
And this is the larger chipper. This is on a tractor unit and that’s now feeding through the branches into the hopper itself. And that then comes the wood chip. And this machine can take up to 35, 40 inches in diameter.
It just gives you an indication of the size of the wood that’s going through. It’s almost the size of the tyre. An indication of the wood chip that’s being created on the job.
Again, the loader enables neat stacking for that. So everything’s nice and efficient. And this pile of wood chip, like I said, will be collected the following day.
And then that gets sent to biomass, for firewood for boilers. So a little bit cheaper than oil and a little bit greener. So the waste is being disposed of properly. That was a good pile of wood chip over the space of the two to three days.
